Dr. Johnson:

One of the opportunities I have as the incoming president of the American Society of Clinical Oncology is one of our major goals is to make the benefits of personalized therapy or precision medicine more widely available to our patients with cancer.  We're going to be having an ongoing effort to educate our—both our community oncologists as well as the academic oncologists on having tumors extensively characterized and also the targeted therapies that are available not only through the commercial setting, that is, those that have been approved by the Food and Drug Administration, but also attempting to have the targeted agents available through clinical trials that are more widely available across the United States.
