Phil G.

Osteosarcoma Patient

When Phil, 26, was a freshman in college and playing on his school’s tennis team, he began to feel a pain in his knee. His trainer suggested stretching and exercise, but after the pain continued, Phil had an MRI. The MRI showed areas of concern and was referred to Dr. Terrance Peabody, who diagnosed him with osteosarcoma. Phil received six months of chemotherapy and underwent limb salvage surgery, including a knee replacement. Now, seven years later, Phil continues an active life by riding his bike, swimming and playing doubles tennis.
