Navigating GVHD: On the Road Again

Getting On the Road Again With GVHD

In the fourth and final installment of the Navigating GVHD series, Carmen shares the realities of living with graft-versus-host disease (GVHD). To receive treatment for both GVHD and multiple myeloma, Carmen had to travel hundreds of miles each week for a year and a half. In this episode we learn how she balances the unrelenting and constantly shifting realities of treatment with her goal of living life to the fullest.

Carmen received a pair of tandem stem cell transplants in 2012 and was in remission for two and a half years. She had an allogeneic transplant in 2016. After receiving donor lymphocyte infusions (DLI) from her second donor, Carmen started noticing symptoms of graft-versus-host disease (GVHD).
