Dr. Michael Wong is head of the Solid Tumors Section, Skin Cancer and Melanoma Clinics at the University of Southern California - Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center. He has a PhD in Experimental Pathology and was a National Cancer Institute of Canada Postdoctoral Scholar in the molecular biology of angiogenic cytokines. Dr. Wong is board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology. His approach to cancer research is to focus on those patient pathways that allow a cancer to take hold in the body and to modifying them to help the patient’s body work against the tumor. Dr. Wong's clinical research has focused on angiogenesis, immunomodulation and tumor:matrix interactions.
