Kathie Rickman, DrPH, RN, CNS

Dr. Katie Rickman is a psychotherapist and addiction specialist in the Psychiatry Department at MD Anderson Cancer Center. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Boston College, a Master’s degree in Mental Health Nursing from the University of Texas School of Nursing in Houston, Texas and a Doctorate in Public Health from the University of Texas School of Public Health.

Before joining MD Anderson, Dr. Rickman served as the director of a substance abuse treatment facility in Houston that specialized in helping patients with substance abuse disorders and mental health diagnoses. She was an assistant professor at the University of Texas School of Nursing for six years prior to that. Her areas of interest include mental health, stress management, chemical coping and spirituality.
