Don Armstrong is a professional speaker and author. His primary motivation to write and speak evolved from his life-changing battle with blood cancer. A leukemia survivor who became a “life thriver” since his healing and recovery, Don is a passionate advocate for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and a member of the North Texas LLS Board of Trustees.

Don previously served as the Vice Chairman of Special Events for the North Texas Chapter of LLS and was a member of LLS’s National Board of Representatives. He serves as Chairman of Team In Training’s (TNT) North Texas League, Chairman of LLS’s North Texas Mission Task Force, and Chairman of the North Texas Blood Cancer Conference and Expo.

As a TNT participant, Don has completed 18 marathons in the U.S. and internationally to raise money for LLS. He received the Chairman Citation in recognition of his outstanding efforts and support of LLS in 2013.

Don is a member of the American Cancer Society’s Speaker Bureau where he speaks on behalf of Carter Blood Care at donor and employee functions. He received the 2010 Advocate of the Year Award for his outstanding commitment to the community blood supply and is a founding board member, president, and race director for the Honored Hero Run. This annual event has donated over $140,000 to LLS since it began in 2009.
