Denise Miles is a clinical psychologist who currently works for an international volunteer agency, providing treatment to and promoting resilience in volunteers adjusting to work overseas. She also has a private practice and resides outside of Washington, DC. Denise Miles obtained her B.A. in Psychology from The Pennsylvania State University. After graduation, she ventured to Africa as a Peace Corps Volunteer Teacher Trainer (Namibia). Upon completing her service, she attended The Virginia Consortium Program in Clinical Psychology, where she conducted research and specialized her clinical training in Family Systems. Denise Miles completed her internship at Maimonides Medical Center in New York City and then joined their faculty as a full-time psychologist. During her 10-year tenure, Denise Miles focused her clinical work in the area of psycho-oncology, coordinating comprehensive psychological services for patients receiving outpatient cancer care. She went on to treat military service members undergoing cancer treatments at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Outside of work, Dr. Miles enjoys spending time outdoors, exploring the world with her son, and trying new things, such as glass blowing.
