Charlie Nielsen

Charlie Nielsen, from Sugarland, Texas, is living with myelofibrosis, an MPN (myeloproliferative neoplasm). When Charlie was diagnosed, he and his wife immediately became powerful advocates scouring the Internet for information. That’s where they found the MPN Education Foundation, which led Charlie to MD Anderson and Dr. Verstovsek. When Charlie began looking for an MPN support group in the Houston area, he found there were none, so he started one of his own MPN Support Group Texas, and it’s grown to over 80 members across the state. He finds great comfort in sharing and helping with others that are going through the same condition. Charlie, under the care of Dr. Verstovsek, is doing very well today.
