Cathy Hamilton
CLL PatientCathy Hamilton is a semi-retired TV and print journalist, author of 16 humor books and inventor of the novelty product “Boyfriend in-a-Box.” Her first play, “Brushes: A Comedy of Hairs” will premiere in Los Angeles in March 2019. She was diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) in February of 2018, the result of a routine physical. She is currently considered “stage 0” and does not require treatment. Cathy has been married to the same man for 39 years and has two children and one genius grandchild. She lives in Lawrence, Kansas, where she practices her new and improved lifestyle including a plant-based diet, lots of exercise and as many laughs as possible. She believes “watch and wait” is a concept best tolerated with an ironic sense of humor. “I was diagnosed three days before I was scheduled to teach a class on obituary writing. I’m still laughing about that.”
