Dr. Daniel Lin, a urologic oncologist from Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, responds to a recent government panel recommendation that healthy men should no longer be screened for prostate cancer using the prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test. Dr. Lin explains that while he feels that portions of the panel's report have merit, he believes the PSA recommendation was premature and that the decision to screen should be approached on an individual basis.
