Jennifer Herlihy: Liver Transplant Success Story

Her diagnosis in 1997 of primary biliary cirrhosis came out of the blue. But people can live pretty well with it for many years. For Jennifer Herlihy of Seattle it was more aggressive and she needed a liver transplant. The University of Washington’s Team Transplant, led by a staff athlete–dietitian, played a key role in her complete recovery. Now Jennifer runs long races and inspires others that there can be a full life today after organ transplant.
