Despite powerful, combination chemotherapies, CLL cells seem to return in a portion of patients.  Researchers have discovered that Stromal cells form protective niches that allow CLL cells to survive.  In this video from ASH 2011, Dr. Jan Burger, from MD Anderson Cancer Center, provides an update on research into the fight against Stromal cells.
