Cancer and Humor: The Man with the Pink Ribbon Tattoo

Patient Power contributor, Christopher Springmann tells the story of "Bob," a man diagnosed with ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS), or intraductal carcinoma—a very common type of breast cancer, but very rare in men. Bob reached out to support groups but found himself turned away, being told that these meetings were for women only. When he started his own group for men diagnosed with breast cancer, he found others who similarly felt they had no where else to go. Now, after surgery, Bob is a healthy cancer survivor, proudly showing off his pink ribbon tattoo.
