    Advantages of Living Donor Kidney Transplants

    As always, donated kidneys are in short supply. For the loved ones of someone with end-stage kidney failure, considering becoming a living donor could be a tremendous gift. Dr. Peter Abt from the University of Pennsylvania explains the significant benefit of this type of transplant in keeping patients off of dialysis. He also explains about "giving chains" for patients who have a willing but incompatible donor.
