Monday, October 1st - "Pediatric and Adolescent HIV/AIDS"

Children with HIV/AIDS face a number of issues. Unlike adults, children have no choice about disclosing their HIV status to others. Dr. Mark Kline from Texas Children's Hospital and Dr. Bret Rudy from Children's Hospital of Philadelphia will discuss the impact of HIV and AIDS on children. These include pregnancy difficulties, immunization recommendations, women's transmission referral, testing and diagnosis.

Tuesday, October 2nd - "Adults Living with HIV/AIDS: Intervention, Advocacy, and Restoring Hope"

HIV/AIDS is the second leading cause of death among young adults in the United States. This is a HUGE problem, and our only weapon for the battle is awareness. Tuesday's discussion includes information on dating with HIV/AIDS, behavioral connections, and AIDS testing. Dr. Jeffrey Laurence from Cornell University's Weill Medical College and Dr. Perry Halkitis from New York University will help us understand how adults living with HIV/AIDS are coping with their illness.

Wednesday, October 3rd - "HIV/AIDS Institutions and Organizations Making a Difference: Breakthroughs and Strategies"

There have been numerous tests and clinical trials conducted in the hopes of finding a cure for HIV/AIDS. However, advancements in treatment have not yet led us to the medicinal annihilation of this deadly disease. Dr. Rowena Johnson from the AIDS Research Foundation will share how close we are to finding a cure and give us a breakdown of what treatment options may soon be available. Also hear from Dr. Seth Berkley, founder of the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative.
