The Healing Benefit of Coordinated Care
Thomas Rado, M.D., PhD
Initially diagnosed with bone cancer, Ben Doherty had to travel far away from his rural community for treatment and was separated from family. His medical team worked hard to coordinate his care to make sure Ben attended the birth of his baby daughter, was reunited with family and can now receive ongoing care closer to home. His story illustrates the importance of a coordinated network of specialists from Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and Columbia Basin Hematology Oncology.
