Andrew Schorr:

So Howard Schiffer has set out with a lot of people helping him to transform the world when the comes to vitamins and get vitamins very inexpensively, very effectively to people who need it. Howard, some final comments for our audience.

Mr. Schiffer:

Well, I think the interesting thing here, Andrew, is that there are so many problems that are facing the world today, and people are a little bit overwhelmed. They're not sure where to start, and they put money into problems that they hope are going to have a good effect. But what I want to tell your listeners is that vitamin deficiency diseases and the problems that Vitamin Angels are dealing with, we know the solutions, so these are solvable. We know that we give a child two high-dose vitamin As per year they will not go blind. So this is a measurable result. So this is something that if you contribute to Vitamin Angels, if you go to vitaminangels.org we can tell you that this is going to have an impact. It's going to make the world a healthier place, and it's going to make the world a safer place. We have people who are getting the right nutrition, people who have some hope for the future, people who are looking at some positive world for their children are people that are really going to start to build a better society for themselves and for the world.

Andrew Schorr:

And you welcome contributions, I'm sure, at any level because it doesn't take a lot of money to begin to make a difference for a few kids.

Mr. Schiffer:

It's a wonderful thing with Vitamin Angels. We have school kids who donate their allowance and tooth fairy money, and we will tell them, You know, for every time you donate a quarter that's one child that's not going to go blind. If you donate a dollar that's going to cover a child for the first four years of their life. So we get donations from a dollar to hundreds of thousands of dollars. And each one of them is special to us because we know that those people are voting to help make this world a better healthier place, and that's what we want to do.

Andrew Schorr:
