Current Status of Lung Cancer Screening in the Wake of the National Lung Screening Trial (NLST)

PROGRAM DETAILS:

In this podcast, Dr. Hart will discuss the results of a large randomized national study which compared the effects of two screening procedures for lung cancer – low-dose helical computed  tomography (CT) and standard chest X-ray. How the study results may affect screening  protocols in the future will be explained. Dr. Hart sees smoking cessation as the first priority toward preventing lung cancer.
