Dr. Francis Giles, Professor in the Department of Leukemia at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, took time out of his busy schedule at the American Society of Hematology (ASH) annual meeting to speak with Andrew about exciting new advances in treatment presented at the meeting. In the interview Dr. Giles discusses a new treatment that shows promise for two types of leukemia, chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL), and myeloproliferative disorders (MPD). This new multi-kinase inhibitor, MK-0457, is showing to be effective against multiple target mutations for these diseases and producing minimal side effects. Click here to listen to the interview.
