We are entering the age of “personalized medicine.” It will allow for prevention measures and treatment to be more precise. The idea is, while human beings are largely the same genetically, the very slight differences can make a big difference when it comes to maintaining or restoring your health. Some people are at higher risk for an illness based on genetics. Some will respond to one medicine or another better because of their genetics or, in the case of cancer, the genetic subtype of a cancer that they have. We invite you to educate yourself here because personalized medicine and an analysis of your “genetic signature” will be coming to a clinic near you before long and it will change your dialogue with your doctor.
