Northwestern Memorial Hospital

Dr. Cotts is a cardiologist at Northwestern Memorial with a special interest in congestive heart failure and heart transplantation. He is the medical director of the Advanced Heart Failure Program in the Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute of Northwestern Memorial Hospital and an associated professor at the Feinberg School of Medicine and an active researcher, Dr. Cotts is involved in a variety of clinical trials and grant programs. He is principal investigator of numerous trials in heart failure, heart transplantation and mechanical assistance. His research interests include antibody mediated rejection, clinical application of assist devices, and devices for the outpatient monitoring of heart failure. He is a reviewer for five leading medical journals and has published a wide range of academic papers in cardiology. Dr. Cotts attended medical school at Loyola University. He conducted his internship, residency and fellowship at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. He is board certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine and a member of the Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation.
