Dr. Susana Ortiz-Urda is co-director of the UCSF Melanoma Center of UCSF Medical Center and is also an assistant professor of dermatology at UCSF. Dr. Ortiz-Urda treats patients with early and advanced melanoma and focuses her research on working to identify the mechanisms of early melanoma progression.  She earned her medical degree and doctor at the University of Vienna in Austria. Dr. Ortiz-Urda went on to complete a residency in dermatology and a postdoctoral fellowship in epithelial biology, both at Stanford University, followed by a cutaneous oncology fellowship in dermatology at UCSF.  She is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, Austrian Society of Dermatology and Venerology, and Dermatology Foundation.
