Stephen McLeod, M.D.
Dr. Stephen D. McLeod is an eye surgeon and chair of the Ophthalmology department at UCSF specializing in refractive surgery and corneal disease. He earned a medical degree at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He went on to complete an ophthalmology residency at the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary at the University of Illinois, Chicago, followed by fellowship training in cornea, external disease and refractive surgery at the University of Southern California's Doheny Eye Institute. Dr. McLeod holds the position of chair of the Preferred Practice Pattern (PPP) Panel on Refractive Surgery for the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He also serves as a consultant to the Ophthalmic Devices Panel of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and on the editorial board of the American Medical Association's journal for ophthalmology research, Archives of Ophthalmology.
