Sheila Hardin
Underwent the TOGA Procedure for Weight Loss

Ms. Sheila Hardin is 56 years old and the mother of two sons.  She worked as a hearing officer for the State of California for 30 years and is now retired.  In early 2009, Sheila weighed about 225 pounds and had been diagnosed a few years earlier with hypothyroidism. After trying to lose weight for years with exercise and diet, she began to explore other options.  In March of 2009, Sheila heard about the incision-free procedure at UCSF Medical Center and called to find out more.  She qualified for the TOGA study.  Dr. Stan Rogers performed the surgery on May 21, 2009.  Today Sheila has changed her lifestyle and is down to a size 12 with a weight loss of almost 50 pounds.  She feels great and no longer has sleep apnea.
