Sandra Kostyk, M.D.

Dr. Sandra K. Kostyk received both her Ph.D. in Neuroscience and her M.D. Degree from the University of Chicago in 1985. Following medical school, she completed her residency training in Neurology at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Upon completion of her neurology residency, Dr. Kostyk was awarded a five-year Physician Scientist Award through the National Institutes of Health to study neurotrophic growth factors that affect the central nervous system’s ability to respond to injury. Dr. Kostyk moved to The Ohio State University in the fall of 1998 and in June of 2000 she assumed directorship of the Huntington’s Disease Society of America Center of Excellence there. She is an active member of the Huntington’s Study Group, a national association of neurologists dedicated to improving the care and treatment of individuals with Huntington’s Disease through clinical research efforts. She oversees multiple ongoing clinical research trials in Huntington’s disease at the Ohio State University.
