Robert Moldwin, M.D.
Dr. Moldwin is physician in charge of urologic infectious/inflammatory diseases and director of the Interstitial Cystitis Center at North Shore-LIJ Health System. He is also Associate Professor of Clinical Urology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City. Dr. Moldwin often serves as an advocate and expert consultant, lecturing to audiences of colleagues, patients and members of the media on such topics as incontinence in men and women, urological health, interstitial cystitis and pelvic disorders.
Dr. Moldwin has research and clinical interest in bladder-based diseases, ranging from urinary incontinence to bladder pain syndromes and bladder infections. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and has published The Interstitial Cystitis Survival Guide: Your Guide to the Latest Treatment Options and Coping Strategies, the first physician-written book exclusively related to interstitial cystitis, designed to reach an audience comprised of both physicians and patients. Dr. Moldwin's research has been published in Cancer, Contemporary Urology, The Journal of Urology and Urology.
Dr. Moldwin earned his undergraduate degree at Adelphi University in Garden City, NY, and his medical degree at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine in Chicago, IL. He completed residencies in general surgery and urology at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center. He also served as a Valentine Fellow, studying infectious and inflammatory urological diseases in the department of urology at Thomas Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA.
