Dr. Richard Sloan is a Professor of Behavioral Medicine at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital at the Columbia University Medical Center and Chief of the Division of Behavioral Medicine at New York State Psychiatric Institute. His medical and graduate studies were finished at New School for Social Research and followed by a fellowship at Columbia University. Primarily, he focuses on identifying the autonomic nervous system mechanisms linking psychological factors to heart disease. He is also an accomplished author.
