Laurie Diangson is a Multiple Sclerosis Certified Nurse. She began her nursing career at UCLA Medical Center and has worked in surgical, post anesthesia recovery, outpatient surgery and intravenous homecare nursing. In 1995 she joined the MS Clinic at the University of California, Irvine where she established an infusion therapy center with Dr. Stanley van den Noort an internationally renowned MS specialist. After retiring a few months ago, she has maintained her association with the MS community by continuing to care for her MS patients while receiving their infusions at home. Laurie was diagnosed with Relapsing-Remitting MS in 1990 and has been on interferon therapy since 1993. Laurie's passion is working as a patient advocate drawing from her knowledge in MS Nursing and her experience as a patient with Multiple Sclerosis. She especially enjoys providing education and support to newly diagnosed patients, their families and well partners. Laurie has shared her expertise as a speaker at numerous programs throughout the United States as well as the 2005 Scientific Nurses Meeting in Europe. She is also on speaker’s bureaus and advisory boards of all the MS drug therapies as well as a volunteer with MS Friends a 24 hour MS Hotline. She is a member of the California Nursing Association, International Organization of Multiple Sclerosis Nurses, and past president of the Orange County Chapter of the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses.
