Julie Carkin, M.D.
Dr. Julie Carkin is a rheumatologist at The Seattle Arthritis Clinic, the medical director of osteoporosis services at Northwest Hospital and Medical Center, and is also a member of the clinical faculty of the University of Washington. She completed her medical degree at Boston University School of Medicine and went on to an internship, residency and chief residency in internal medicine at the University of Washington. There Dr. Carkin was recognized with the Robert S. Evans award for outstanding resident in internal medicine. She completed her fellowship training in rheumatology at the University of Washington and at Emory University School of Medicine. She is board-certified in rheumatology and internal medicine, and has built special interest and expertise in osteoporosis prevention, diagnosis and management.
Dr. Carkin has been repeatedly chosen by her peers as one of “Seattle’s Top Docs,” in an annual issue of Seattle Magazine. When not treating patients, Dr. Carkin is an avid Seattle Mariners fan and as a native of Massachusetts, she is still a member in good standing of the “Red Sox Nation”. She also enjoys mountain and road cycling, hiking and spending time with family and friends.
