Jessie Gruman, Ph.D.
Dr. Jessie Gruman is President of the Center for the Advancement of Health and Author of After Shock: What to Do When the Doctor Gives You – or Someone You Love – a Devastating Diagnosis. She received her undergraduate degree from Vassar College and her Ph.D. in social psychology from Columbia University. Dr. is a Professorial Lecturer in the School of Public Health at The George Washington University and serves on numerous boards of trustees. She is the recipient of an honorary doctorate in public policy from Carnegie Mellon University and the Presidential Medal of The George Washington University. She has been recognized numerous times for her achievements and is also an author of many articles, essays, and a book.
