Janet S. Scheetz, PT, CLT-LANA is the supervisor for outpatient physical therapy at the University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center. She earned her BS at Texas Woman’s University in 1977 and has worked at M. D. Anderson since graduation. Her clinical specialty in oncology rehabilitation is with head and neck, breast, pain management and Lymphedema management. She is a certified manual lymphedema drainage therapist from the Dr. Vodder School. She is also nationally certified through Lymphology Association of North America (LANA).
She has participated in research projects documenting the morbidity of the shoulder following neck dissection, improved treatment regarding mouth-opening after radiation of the head and neck, and outcomes comparing manual drainage therapy with compression bandaging vs. compression bandaging only. She is currently a collaborator on several physician-driven studies. She is the author of several articles and book chapters, and she has presented about pain management and lymphedema at local and national conferences.
