Hope Rugo, M.D.
Dr. Hope Rugo is Director of Breast Oncology and Clinical Trial Education at the UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center of UCSF Medical Center. Dr. Rugo graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. She went on to complete a residency in internal medicine and primary care followed by a fellowship in hematology and oncology at UCSF. In 1990, she joined the faculty at UCSF Medical Center in the Division of Hematology and Oncology. Dr. Rugo has a special interest in therapies for breast cancer and is the principal investigator of several clinical trials testing these treatments. She is also a professor of medicine at UCSF and an investigator of SPORE (Specialized Program of Research Excellence in Breast Cancer) in the Bay Area.
