Fergus Coakley, M.D.

Dr. Fergus Coakley is a radiologist and chief of the abdominal imaging section in the department of radiology at UCSF Medical Center. Dr. Coakley received a medical degree at National University of Ireland followed by a medical residency in Dublin, Ireland, a radiology residency in Leicester, England, and a fellowship in body imaging at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. His interests include magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for the evaluation of prostate cancer, magnetic resonance spectroscopic imaging (MRSI), MRI assessment of fetal anomalies, advanced hepatobiliary imaging, computed tomography (CT) characterization of renal masses and virtual colonoscopy. Dr. Coakley is board certified in radiology by the American Board of Radiology and the Royal College of Radiologists in London. He is also board certified in medicine by the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland.
