David Rice, M.D.
Director of the Minimally Invasive Thoracic Surgery Program

Dr. David Rice is an Assistant Professor and Director of two programs at M.D. Anderson: the Minimally Invasive Thoracic Surgery Program and the Multidisciplinary Mesothelioma Program. Born and raised in Dublin, Ireland, he received his medical degree at Trinity College, the University of Dublin, but has also completed general surgery residency training at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, NM. In addition to his position at M.D. Anderson, Dr. Rice holds a joint appointment with the Harris County Hospital District and with the Houston Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and he is also a diplomate of the American Board of Surgery.
