Brent D. Matthews, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Brent Matthews is an associate professor in the Division of General Surgery, Section of Hepatobiliary Pancreatic Surgery at Washington University and a GI Surgeon at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. He obtained his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine followed by a residency in surgery at Northeastern Ohio Colleges of Medicine in Akron, Ohio. Dr. Matthews went on to complete a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery and research at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, and a fellowship in advanced laparoscopy and research at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. His special interest is minimally invasive surgery of the liver, pancreas and GI tract. Dr. Matthews is board certified in surgery.
