Alex Cahana, M.D., DAAPM, FIPP, DPhil
Dr. Alex Cahana is a Pain Medicine Chief in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at the University of Washington Medical Center. He is also a professor of Anesthesiology and an adjunct professor of Radiology and Bioethics & Humanities. He was born in Israel and received his medical degree at Tel Aviv University in Israel. After several teaching positions, he completed a clinical fellowship program at the Pain Control Center at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. He also completed an Advanced Clinical Fellowship in Interventional and Palliative Pain Management at Vanderbilt. Dr. Cahana was an associate professor in Anesthesia at Geneva University Hospital in Switzerland. He then moved to the University of Washington, where he remains. He speaks six languages (English, Hebrew, French, Arabic, Rumanian, & Japanese).
